AT&T starts rolling out Android 4.4 KitKat update for Moto X

A couple of days in the past Motorola and Verizon stunned everybody via rolling out the Android 4.4 update for the Moto X well ahead of every other OEM, including Google for its own Nexus devices. Now AT&T has also joined in on the KitKat bandwagon and is rolling out the elusive update to all the Moto X on its network.

As with the Verizon version, there are practically no carrier specific changes within the software on the Moto X, which explains why the device has been so quick to receive the updates. Of course the whole update procedure can be even faster but it’s good to see how much better it has become, at least on Motorola devices.

After Verizon and AT&T, only Sprint and US Cellular Moto X are left running Android 4.3. Neither have yet begun rolling out the latest update, although hopefully it won’t be too long from now.
